Fiona Macbeth

founder and lead facilitator

An Inside Story brings together a lifetime of work in drama and story-based practice. It defines a method of supporting people to make a change in their lives and crystalizes over 30 years of experience. Working with a huge variety of people very often facing enormous challenges in their lives, I’ve used games, drama, story and metaphor to facilitate people to step over barriers into a better understanding of their motivations, their history, their habits, their lives.

I have created An Inside Story to share with you, both in-person and online workshops, a facilitated journey into personal transformation and change. Story is a framework that is completely available to all; a wonderful tool and a powerful facilitator of change.

I have come to understand how the stories we tell to ourselves, to colleagues, to family and to friends can shape our experiences and identity; how they overlay and distort our authentic personal narratives and how sometimes the story gets stuck and we find it hard to move beyond it.  I have witnessed many times the extraordinary moment when a personal experience is understood in a new and more genuine way through the re-interpretation of the story behind it. An Inside Story uses story telling as a route into a deeper understanding of ourselves and helps us gather our experiences into a meaningful, integrated narrative; one in which we are in the driving seat of our lives.
