I would recommend it to anyone who is curious about things in their lives they take for granted.

I found Fiona’s workshop to be an incredibly powerful and illuminating experience. I was fascinated by what came out of my mouth and to discover how the power of storytelling could help me access things which were on the very edge of my consciousness. Fiona is an extremely gifted and insightful facilitator and she very skilfully guided workshop participants through sensitive terrains in their unconscious landscapes. She has developed a powerful and potentially transformative model and I would highly recommend this workshop to anyone who wants to understand themselves more deeply and live more fully.

It was refreshing and inspiring to have the space held where everyone was able to use a different side of their brain they haven’t practiced much in engaging and I was very pleasantly surprised by the outcomes for me personally. The story I wrote flowed effortlessly after having been encouraged to engage with story in a different way, and it will stay with me for a long time.

I hadn’t expected one morning to actually change anything, but this session genuinely helped me to crystallise something in my life. Because of the story element I could focus on the issue surprisingly deeply yet indirectly, and the story I came up with has stayed with me.

Fiona was great at drawing out key questions that were on my mind and somehow had been hidden. It was initially hard for me to clarify a question, but Fiona was great at crystalizing that for me. The whole thing was really well facilitated and held. There was no pressure or sense of competition about writing and I found it surprisingly easy to write a story within that setting. Hearing other people’s stories was wonderful, I got loads out of it. Although our questions were very different, we found answers in other people’s writing as well as our own.

It was an amazing day. For me, a standout was how Fiona introduced the story writing exercise. It made me feel confident and at ease with her reassurance that we all tell stories, and that it was her job to support me where I needed in order to be able to do it. And her own storytelling is phenomenal. I loved the invitation just to enjoy, listen and receive the story - something I rarely do in adult life. The sharing in the group was delightful - always invitational, and a chance to gain insights from others in the group. I’d do it again like a shot!

An Inside Story is for anyone wanting to give their deep imagination and intuition the luxury of a spa treatment! Fiona holds the space so lightly and with such care. All you have to do is to relax into the lack of pressure or expectation and see what emerges when the waters clear.  The wisdom that emerges from your inner self, and from Fiona and the group as they respond, offers insights and perspectives which are refreshing and, potentially, quietly life-changing.
— Philippa, teacher
The workshop avoided trite maxims or intrusive questioning, so that we considered our narratives in relation to the storyworld, without needing to pin it down to anything in ‘real life’. This also allowed more open discussion with other participants, and empowered us to interpret our own imaginings, rather than have interpretations imposed upon us. I would recommend this workshop as something that opens up new ways of thinking, without enforcing rules or being too goal-oriented.
— Cathy, University lecturer
The themes and symbols that emerged in my story gave me a metaphorical guide and so a new way of responding to and thinking about my question, that was and continues to be affirming and helpful.

The workshop enabled us gently to catch hold of different strands of ourselves and weave them together. The concepts behind the workshop are expressed in clear, strong resonant language and metaphors, which were revealing and rang true.
The story telling process and approach was insightful, honest and felt full of care and kindness. It was nurturing.

This process enabled me to overcome obstacles which were more on the edge of my consciousness, difficulties I may not have even articulated to myself without this opportunity.

I took An Inside Story workshop session at a difficult time in my personal life, having recently suffered a bereavement and a series of changes. I found the sessions a gentle, supportive and thoughtful way to reflect on my patterns of behaviour, relationships with others and state of mind. The story-telling element is carefully crafted and unintrusive. Fiona is a skilled facilitator, who creates an atmosphere of trust and kindness where I felt safe to reflect and build understanding about myself and my relationships with others.
— Katie, University lecturer
I was surprised how quickly the time passed in the good company of other participants, characters from Fiona’s stories with which she opens the session, and the characters that populated mine (not all appealing!). The stories might have told me something about our concerns of that particular day, but furnished me with food for thought for days to come.

This opportunity to dive deep into your subconscious makes the process a vital tool for artists who are burning out under the pressures of monetising their every creative thought. It is in fact vital for everyone. An Inside Story blows the cobwebs out of the vastly imaginative and creative space that we all have, giving you the tools to access your own abundant inner wisdom.

I came in nervous about my ability to tell stories and left with a narrative that highlighted how to engage with tricky areas of my life in fresh ways.
